Does your blog have plateauing visits?
Re-publishing older blog posts may create the boost you’re looking for. Re-publishing evergreen posts from last winter or years past, will have a wonderfully positive impact on your blog.
What about duplicate content?
You may have concerns about Google penalizing your Search Optimization because of duplicate content. Don’t worry. Google Search has advanced intelligence in it’s algorithm. Google understands and accepts that there’s a lot of legitimate duplicate content published on the web and won’t impose penalty on ‘above-board’ articles or sites. Just avoid looking like a web spammer. Don’t know what that looks like? Here’s a Wikipedia article describing the various kinds of web spam, also known as ‘Spamdexing’.
Jump, both feet first, into re-publishing!
Go for it! …but, be judicious about what you republish. Not every article you’ve written is worthy of being republished. Skip over those posts that aren’t worthy. As you comb through your older posts and look for re-publishing candidates, ask yourself these qualifying questions…. Is the post information still relevant and useful? Do my cited statistics in this post still apply? Is my blog audience still interested in this topic?
